The Tees Valley Careers initiative overarches the coordination and delivery of careers activity in primary, secondary and further education by the careers team at Tees Valley Combined Authority.

Programme Structure

Tees Valley Combined Authority has a dedicated careers team that works with and supports all education establishments, primary to post 16 to support the  implementation of high-quality careers guidance, to help young people make more informed decisions around their future choices.

The careers team links schools and colleges with Tees Valley employers and help them to build their networks.  The team also support Career Leaders by providing training and sharing best practice to enable leaders to progress towards achieving the Gatsby Benchmarks and also ensure they are in line with the new Ofsted statutory guidelines for careers.

We need you

Businesses are key to the delivery of TVCA’s Careers Education Strategy. We need you to  help inspire and raise aspirations of young people.  Increasing and widening the number of employers that are directly engaging with our young people and adults to provide real life examples of work and information about what skills they are looking for is critical to achieving success.

At Tees Valley Combined Authority, we want to make it easier for businesses to engage by providing a menu of support.  There are two main ways that your business can support schools and colleges with their careers education provision:

  1. Businesses/ Employees can volunteer as an Enterprise Adviser or a Careers Business Champion
  2. Businesses/ Employees can sign up to the Tees Valley Shout Out Portal. More information can be found on the relevant sections of the website.
