Women in Engineering Flying High at Gatwick Airport (virtual)

Register

Gatwick Airport has been named the world’s busiest single runway airport for many decades. It is a fast paced and dynamic environment – not just for the passengers that pass through, but for the staff that work there too.

There are a diverse range of departments and roles available at the Airport ranging from front line operational staff to behind the scenes technicians.

Join Abi and Dani for this live talk, who represent a small proportion of the women who work at the Airport and more specifically within the Engineering department. They will talk about their experiences of working in the Airport environment, their journeys of getting to where they are and why they continue to fly the flag for women working in similar roles. They will aim to inspire our younger generations, who may not know about the opportunities available to them.

Dani has worked in both Engineering and Construction at the airport for 12 years whilst Abi is an amazing second year apprentice who has great insight into the Apprenticeship programme at Gatwick and the journey she is currently on.

This live talk, aimed at secondary students, will be informative and engaging. There will be the opportunity to ask questions afterwards.

This virtual secondary school talk will take place using MS Teams Live. The platform has safeguarding built-in to make it a safe online environment, especially for young people, including no webcams or microphones and a live Q&A function which is fully moderated.
