Award winning, Spark Tees Valley have supported primary, secondary and SEND schools for almost 25 years at both strategic and operational levels.
Our projects encompass all areas of the curriculum and the wider school community focusing on effective use of technology in the classroom and connecting children to the wider world by working with many Tees Valley employers to develop cultural capital. Our resources and projects allow schools, particularly primary and SEND, to integrate a full programme of aspirations and awareness of the world of work into an already crowded curriculum in a way that supports teachers rather than adds to their workload.
Entrepreneurial skills are vital for young people if they want to succeed in life. Effective communication, understanding other people’s needs and problem solving are all examples of skills that are useful in lots of different situations. The events in this Programme are designed to allow children to develop their skills in a context of developing a new product for an identified need.
The focus of each event can be ‘off the shelf’ or dovetailed to topics that the children are working on in their curriculum at the time. Children will work in small groups and teamwork skills will be continually referenced and highlighted throughout the day. They will use iPads to create AR/VR simulations of their work as well as presenting their ideas through short films
