What are the benefits of using the platform?

The new Shout out Platform is a digital system that is replacing the existing paper based shout out process.

For both education establishments and employers the new shout out platform allows users to be in control of raising “shout outs” and managing responses. The new system will allow you to:

✔️ View multiple requests on one screen. This means employers will not receive lots of individual emails from different education establishments allowing you to plan strategically the support you are willing to offer.

✔️ For education establishments you will be able to view all the available employer opportunities on one screen and correspond with employers direct.

✔️ Upload a “shout out” at any time and it will go live immediately. For education establishments, the platform will use intelligent matching to target the employers most appropriate to your request.

✔️ For employers, you can advertise any opportunities you have for students and you can manage education establishment responses directly.

✔️ Run management information reports and evaluate your career activities.

✔️ Update your contact details and preferences or remove your details from the platform at any time.

 


How do I register?

All education establishments within Tees Valley will be automatically added to the platform and will be sent a link to update your details and passwords.

Any employers already registered to receive shout outs will be automatically added to the platform and will be sent a link to update your details and passwords.

How do I raise a Shout Out?

Once you have logged into the system, go to “Raise a Request”.  For education establishments you will be asked to provide information similar to the current shout out form, you can also target specific sectors if you wish.

The platform will match the request to sector specific employers that have agreed to support the type and geographical area of the event.

For employers, please provide as much information about your event so that education establishments can consider the offer.

Once submitted the request will go live but you can edit the request at any time by going into My Requests, View, Edit Request.

How is my data used?

Tees Valley Combined Authority will use the information that you provide to administer an on-line business to educational establishment engagement platform which will allow either party to upload events and for the other party to respond to those events should they choose to do so.

If you respond to an event, your information (business name, sector, contact name, contact email) will be shared with the education establishment contact who may then contact you outside of the platform for the purposes of careers engagement.

We may also use your data to inform you of relevant information and events from Tees Valley Combined Authority or the providers and educational establishments that we work with.

No information will be shared with third parties without your permission.

Can I change my details or opt out?

You can update your data and preferences at any time by logging into the platform and going to Account. You can be removed from the system at any time by emailing join@teesvalleycareers.com

 


I’m having problems, where can I find help?

If the platform is not loading or sections are missing, try using Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge.

Do I have to use the platform?

There are no plans to operate a dual system. From September 2020, all shout outs will be communicated via the platform.  For education establishments we hope you find the new platform far more effective for managing your career events than the current system however, if for some reason you are unable to use the platform, please get in touch with your Careers Co-ordinator to discuss the options.
